Babylon Plumbers Support Wheatley Heights Camp for Kids with Cancer

Babylon Plumbers Bring Joy and Pizza to Wheatley Heights Camp for Kids with Cancer

The Plumbing Contractors Association of Long Island continued its annual tradition of sponsoring a lunch for children battling cancer at the free Sunrise Day Camp.

A heartwarming tradition continued in Wheatley Heights as a local Babylon-area trade group brought smiles and slices to a very special summer camp.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Plumbing Contractors Association of Long Island (PCALI) hosted its beloved pizza lunch at Sunrise Day Camp.

The event is more than just a meal; it's a powerful display of community support for a camp that serves children battling cancer and their siblings, entirely free of charge.

This year’s lunch fueled several hundred campers and over 200 staff members during the camp’s energetic and much-anticipated Color War competition.

The support from local organizations is the lifeblood of the camp's mission.

Sunrise Day Camp offers a vital escape, providing year-round programming that allows children facing serious health crises to simply enjoy being kids.

Jeff Connelly, President of PCALI, described supporting the camp and seeing the children's smiles as an “incredible privilege.”

He emphasized that the association is honored to play a small part in helping these kids experience the simple joys of childhood.

The partnership, nurtured by long-time PCALI member Larry Levine, stands as a testament to the impact of local business involvement in the Town of Babylon community and beyond.

Camp officials expressed deep gratitude, noting that it is precisely this kind of consistent support that allows them to continue their work without ever charging a family.

It's a powerful reminder of what makes our Long Island community so special.

The effort reflects the core values of the I Love Babylon spirit, where neighbors help neighbors.

PCALI works to advance the plumbing industry in Nassau and Suffolk counties while fostering deep connections to local charities.
